Description	:	Cecelia Weiland, 84, of Ethan, passed away on Friday, Nov. 23, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell. Services have been set for 10 AM Tuesday, Nov. 27 at St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Church in Alexandria, SD with burial at St. Mary of Mercy Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, Monday at the Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Cecelia, daughter of Leo and Dora (Wenande) Huffman was born May 9, 1923 in Alexandria, SD. She grew up and attended school in Alexandria graduating from Alexandria High School in 1941. After high school, Cecelia attended Mitchell Business School. Cecelia was united in marriage with Jack Weiland on February 15, 1945 in Tulsa, OK. After their marriage she worked as a secretary/business assistant in many capacities: Mitchell Daily Republic, Feinsteins, Senator Abourezks Office, Senator McGoverns Office, President of the House that Jack Built, and the Beadle County Sheriffs Department from which she retired in 1988. Cecelia was an active member of the Democratic Party all her life. She was also a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was voted Mother of the Year in Rapid City. She and Jack enjoyed fishing, traveling, and visiting life-long friends. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Jack Weiland of Ethan, four children Jacquie Etienne (John) of Dubuque, IA, Judy Wipf (David) of Rapid City, Paul Weiland (Sandra) of Troy, MO, and Jim Weiland (Amy) of Oregon City, OR. She has four grandchildren and four step-grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Dora Huffman, her sisters Harriet Chase and Lillian Huffman, and her brother Dale Huffman.
