Description	:	C. Allen Johnson was born June 9, 1913, in Stark, Kan., to Oliver B. Johnson and Grace M. (Allen) Johnson. He was united in marriage to Florence Lucile Coles, Feb. 10, 1934, in Billings. Lucile passed away May 6, 2011. Allen did many things in his life, and did each one well. Allen was a machinist and did a lot of mechanic work, including welding. He not only was able to... Read More	C. Allen Johnson was born June 9, 1913, in Stark, Kan., to Oliver B. Johnson and Grace M. (Allen) Johnson. He was united in marriage to Florence Lucile Coles, Feb. 10, 1934, in Billings. Lucile passed away May 6, 2011. Allen did many things in his life, and did each one well. He went from herding cattle to breaking horses to working on the Billings Airport runway, using four horses and a fresno. He also worked on the Fort Peck Dam. Allen was a machinist and did a lot of mechanic work, including welding. He not only was able to fix most anything, but he also knew how they should work, and very often, was able to improve on that. After working at H-S Engine for many years, he left there to start his own shop in Lockwood, "Johnson Repair and Manufacturing." He then worked at Sears and retired from there in 1976. Allen's family came to Montana when he was 18 months old. They lived in the Hardin area for a time, then moved to the Acton area. Eventually the family settled in the Alkali Creek area near Billings. After he and Lucile were married, they resided in Lockwood since 1939. Allen is survived by his sons, Larry (Audrey) and Duane (Wilene); five grandchildren, Terri (David) Kelleher, Mark (Katie) Johnson, Richard (Melanie) Johnson, Tamala Lucas (John) and Jeffrey Johnson; seven great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and four step-great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Emma and Velva; and one brother, Chris. Visitations may be made at Smith West Chapel, 304 34th St. W., from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday, as well as before the funeral. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 9, at the Smith West Chapel with interment to follow at Terrace Gardens Cemetery.
