Mr. Allen died at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, May, 28, 1997, in White County Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness. Born Jan. 2, 1913, in Royal Center, he was the son of Oscar and Elizabeth Van Sickle Allen. On June 4, 1945, he was married in Reynolds to Dorotha W. Roach, who survives. He was a 1931 graduate of Logansport High School and a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He farmed all his life and was an avid fisherman. Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Joyce Lynn Lowe, Indianapolis, Linda C. Johns, Delphi, and Carol Lynn Blohm, Peru; one son, Richard C. Allen, Monticello; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Two brothers preceded in death. Officiating at the services will be Pastor Don Haase. Burial will be in Riverview IOOF Cemetery, Monticello. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Oak Grove Christian Church.
