Cecil Leroy Taylor was born southeast of Anita, Iowa, on December 18, 1930, the son of Cecil Dewey and Georgia Alene (Thomas) Taylor. He attended rural schools and in July of 1951, married Bernadine Joy Boedeker. That same year he started working for Lyman Produce at Lyman. Cecil Leroy Taylor was born southeast of Anita, Iowa, on December 18, 1930, the son of Cecil Dewey and Georgia Alene (Thomas) Taylor. He attended rural schools and in July of 1951, married Bernadine Joy Boedeker. That same year he started working for Lyman Produce at Lyman. In 1954 he purchased the business and has operated it continuously ever since. Bernadine died March 10, 1970. On October 15, 1970 he married Marlene Jean Pelzer at St. John’s UCC Church at Lyman. Leroy’s hobbies included racing micro-midget racecars, flying airplanes and helping his father farm the family farm at Anita. He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife Marlene of Lyman, two daughters, Bea Everest and her husband John of Bailey, Colorado, and Bert Anderson and her companion Kathy Lamb of Griswold; two sons, Troy Taylor and his wife Monica of Kimballton, Iowa and Todd Taylor of Lyman; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also one brother, Keith Taylor and his wife Treva of Fontanelle, Iowa and one sister, Lorraine Ehle and her husband Delbert of Lyman. His parents and first wife preceded Leroy in death.
