He was born July 30, 1927, at Briggsville. He was a lifelong resident of Briggsville, and was married to Grace Womack Buford for 47 1/2 years until her death on January 19, 1999. Funeral services were Saturday, February 9, 2002 at 1:00 p. m. at the Shinn Chapel with Rev. Royce Savage and Rev. Hulon Wiser officiating. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery at Briggsville, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville. Active pallbearers were Buddy Ray, Mike Rhoden, Ernie Alonzo, Keith Briggs, Maxie Mathis and Nickey Cathey. The family received friends on Friday evening, from 7 to 8 p. m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mount Zion Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, c/o Joe Lee Buford, M.
