He married Mary Donaldson, Rector, Arkansas, August 25, 1934. Their children are Mrs. Joe H. (Dana) Marlin, Jr.; Mrs. J. O. (Marilyn) Whitfield; Mrs. Richard T. (Janice) Hughes; and Sara. Brother Wright is a graduate of Freed-Hardeman College, 1933; B.S. Sam Houston State Teachers' College, 1935; audited Hebrew, Abilene Christian College, 1946; candidate, M.A., Harding Graduate School; instructor, Department of Bible, Freed-Hardeman College, since 1967. His publications: Intermediate Bible School Quarterly (Firm Foundation); staff-writer or contributor, Gospel Advocate, Minister's Monthly, Voice of Freedom and other worthy publications. He is the author of Questing for Unity. His faithful and effective ministry has extended through 17 states of our nation, including Texas, Oklahoma. Colorado, Missouri, Tennessee, and Illinois. He has been a regular teacher of Bible classes for over 35 years. He was education director of Rockford (Illinois) Christian Camp for six years. Cecil Neil Wright Biographical Sketches by J. Cliett Goodpasture Cecil Neil Wright was born July 14, 1908, near Piggott, Arkansas, the oldest of fourteen children. His parents, Valley P. and Rhoda Wright, were baptized when he was six years old, and his father soon became a preacher. Cecil Wright was baptized at fifteen years of age by Lacy L. Holt. Due to his father's ill-health, his formal education was interrupted after only three months in high school. Later, he accepted an invitation from James E. Laird, superintendent of the Arkansas Christian Home, Fort Smith, Arkansas, to work for the home and go to high school. After two years there he entered Freed-Hardeman College, Henderson, Tenn. He received the bachelor's degree at Sam Houston State Teachers College in Huntsville, Texas, in 1935. Later he studied Hebrew at Abilene Christian College. On August 28, 1934, he married the former Mary Donaldson of Rector, Ark. They have four daughters. He has preached for the Cornell congregation in Chicago, Illinois, since June of 1956. For seven and one-half years he worked with the Sherman Street (now University Boulevard) church in Denver, Colorado. Before that he preached for the Highland and Northside congregations in Lubbock, Texas. Meetings and lectureships have taken him into almost half of the states of our nation. He has done much radio work. While in Abilene, Brother Wright wrote a daily religious column and a weekly question and answer column in the Reporter-News. For over seven years he edited the Intermediate Bible School quarterly of the Firm Foundation Publishing House. He has written for the Gospel Advocate, Firm Foundation, Christian Chronicle, Christian Leader, and 20th Century Christian. At present he is a staff writer for the Minister's Monthly, Voice of Freedom and Power for· Today. He has served as educational director of Rockford (Illinois) Christian Camp and as a teacher at the Lake Geneva Encampment in Wisconsin. Minister's Monthly, p. 405.
