Description	:	Thanks to contributor #48796369 Cecil Roderick Sims, 92, of Aurora died Thursday, December 27, 2001, at Hamilton Manor in Aurora. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Aurora Methodist Church. Dr. Joe Scahill will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora. Mr. Sims, was born October 24, 1909 to Claude and Rosa (Luthy) Sims in Phillips. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora. Mr. Sims, was born October 24, 1909 to Claude and Rosa (Luthy) Sims in Phillips. He grew up on a farm between Giltner and Phillips and attended country school. He graduated from Phillips High School. He then went to work on his parent's farm. He married Eva Shipley on March 15, 1939, in York. They lived in Hazard for four years, then moved to a farm north of Aurora for one year and lived in York County for one year. They then moved to a farm southwest of Marquette where they lived for 40 years before moving into Aurora in 1985. Eva died on October 3, 1997. Mr. Sims was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. He enjoyed doing carpentry work and custom woodworking. He was preceded in death by his wife, a brother, Melvin and two sisters, Wilma Olson and Bernice Hoffmaster. Survivors include a brother-in-law, Ervin Shipley of California.
