CECILE STRONG Cecile Goldie Strong, the daughter of Thomas and Katherine (Nichols) Smith, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on October 3, 1902 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on June 3, 2003, at the age of 100. She was raised in Aurora and worked in the family owned restaurant and was a telephone operator until 1925. Cecile was united in marriage to Kenneth Strong on July 8, 1922 in Aurora. Together they had a child Deryl E. Strong. Kenneth passed away on March 4, 1965. She was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, and cherished by all of them. She was an avid reader of scripture and faithful to prayer and her devotion to the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son and daughter-in-law, and ten siblings. Those left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Alan Strong of Pawnee City, Darla Svoboda of Aurora, Cheryl L. Smith of Gothenburg, Calvin Strong of Aurora and Karen S.
