Hempstead, 86, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roy Babb, near Port William, Saturday at 11:50 A.M. of a cerebral hemorrhage. She had been ill 10 days. The daughter of Marshall and Elizabeth Jenkins, she was born near Port William November 15, 1851, and had been a life-long resident of Liberty Township. She was the widow of John T. Hempstead, who died in July 1926. She was a member of the Port William M.P. Church, Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Roy Babb, of near Port William, and Mrs. Charles Martin, of Philadelphia; three sons, Clyde J., of Jamestown, Jesse C. and Thomas R. Hempstead, both of R.F.D. Wilmington; five grand children and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. E.E. Hale, of Wilmington; two brothers, D.M. Jenkins of Wilmington, and J.S. Jenks of Harveyville, Kan. The day and hour of the funeral which will be held at the Thomas R. Hempstead residence, near Lumberton have not been announced. Rev. C.B. Doty will officiate and burial, in charge of B.D.E. Arthur, will be in Port William cemetery. The body will be taken to the Thomas R. Hempstead residence Sunday after 2:30 P.M. Typed as written
