Description	:	Celestine "Sally" Paprocki, 87, of Columbus, formerly of Humphrey and rural Tarnov, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at her home at Meridian Gardens Assisted Living Center. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Tarnov. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church with vigil and rosary at 7 p.m. Additional viewing will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery. Sally, the daughter of John and Leona (Mannelein) Hemmer, was born Aug. 8, 1924, at home in rural Petersburg. She graduated from Newman Grove High School with a normal teaching certificate in 1942. She taught three years in one-room schools. During WWII, she worked summers at the Ammunition Plant at Mead. She married Heliodore "Dores" Paprocki Aug. 26, 1946, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay. They lived and farmed west of Tarnov until 1978, at which time they moved to Humphrey. Dores and Sally continued working at D&L until their retirement. They were instrumental in getting St. Michael's Complex into the state and national register of historic places. Sally was one of the founders of the Tarnov Heritage Museum. Sally remained active with St. Michael's as well as St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey. She prayed the rosary daily. One of Sally's passions was quilting. She made quilts for all her family members as well as donations towards church functions. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Sally is survived by her daughter, Victoria (Robert) Kent of Minneapolis; three sons: Thomas (Sabrina) Paprocki of Houston, Charles (Lorraine) Paprocki of Columbus, and Andy (Lois) Paprocki of Columbus; six grandchildren: Kari, Shawna, Brent, John and Sarah Paprocki and Elizabeth Aaron; six great-grandchildren; four sisters: Donna (Joe) Brandl, Betty French, Connie McDonnough and Shirley Holman; sisters-in-law, Pauline Hemmer and Gayle Hemmer; brother-in-law, Rosmund Paprocki; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Jerome, Ralph and Jim; and sister, Rosemary Koziol. Funeral arrangements handled by Duesman Funeral Home, Humphrey. Memorials may be directed to St. Michael's Historical Society.
