She had been employed as a cook by Alpha Sigma Tau sorority at Emporia State Teachers' College. Mrs. Toms was born June 18, 1900, at Hartford in Lyon County, the daughter of George A. and Myrtle M. Rudy Baysinger. She was a member of New Strawn Community Church at New Strawn. She married Wilbur H. Campbell May 29, 1918, at Emporia. He died Sept. 19, 1945. She married Abe Toms Sept. 12, 1949, at Independence. He died Oct. 20, 1976. Survivors include three daughters: Thelma Wheeler, Lyla Traw, and Glenda Lang; a brother, Ernest Baysinger; two sisters, Nancy Woods and Laura Mitchell; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
