Description	:	Celia L. Harder, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died Thursday evening, July 10, 2008, at her home, following a brief illness. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, July 14, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa, with the Rev. John H. Keppel, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery, Clinton, Iowa. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa. Celia Louise Holtz was born February 27, 1921, in rural Preston, Iowa, daughter of Carl W. and Martha (Rohwedder) Holtz. She graduated from Preston High School in 1938 and attended business school in Clinton, Iowa. She married Arnold Harder on January 12, 1941, in Clinton, Iowa. She was the church secretary at United Church of Christ in Maquoketa for 16 years. She also was a crossing guard for the Maquoketa schools and had farmed with her husband for 31 years. She was a member of the United Church of Christ, UCC Women's Fellowship Group and the Thrift Club in earlier years. Celia enjoyed a profusion of garden flowers, going to garage sales, playing solitaire and scrabble, and most importantly her family. She was a longtime dedicated quilter. She is survived by her husband, Arnold Harder, of Maquoketa; her children, Susan (Philip) Hall, of Tipton, Richard (Kathleen) Harder, of Largo, Florida, and Bonnie (Robert) Temperley, of Clinton; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ray and Elmer Holtz. -Obituary: Quad-City Times
