McCausland, a well known and highly respected resident of Scott county, died at 11:45 o'clock Wednesday night after an illness of several months. She underwent an operation Aug. 24 and has since been in declining health. Deceased was 65 years old, being born in Dubuque, Dec. 14, 1851. McCausland, a well known and highly respected resident of Scott county, died at 11:45 o'clock Wednesday night after an illness of several months. She underwent an operation Aug. 24 and has since been in declining health. Deceased was 65 years old, being born in Dubuque, Dec. 14, 1851. She was the daughter of Seneca and Mary Smith and was was married to Clemson McCausland on May 6, 1880, at Farley, Dubuque County. Her maiden name was Celina Smith. She came to McCausland in October of the same year where she lived until 1910 when they moved to Rockham, S.D., and resided there on a farm for two years. They then returned to McCausland and have since resided in this town. Surviving are the husband, two sons and one daughter. The sons are John W., of Minneapolis, and Guy, of McCausland, and the daughter is Mrs. Mary Coe of McCausland. Three sisters and one brother also survive, they being Mrs. Albert Staebler of Chicago, Mrs. J.W. Denmere of Hannibal, Mo., Mrs. J.S. Williams of St. Joe, Mo., and Louis Smith of Masquit, Ore. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the family home. Burial will be in the McCausland cemetery.
