Description	:	UNION - Chandous Allen Franklin, 75, of 228 Shetley Road died March 5, 1999, in Oakmont Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. A native of Buffalo, he was the widower of Lois Shetley Franklin and son of the late Robert Lee and Bessie Lela Coleman Franklin. He was of the Baptist faith and a lifelong member of VFW Post No. 3122. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. During his tenure in the Navy, he fought in North Africa, Sicily and France. Read More	UNION - Chandous Allen Franklin, 75, of 228 Shetley Road died March 5, 1999, in Oakmont Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. A native of Buffalo, he was the widower of Lois Shetley Franklin and son of the late Robert Lee and Bessie Lela Coleman Franklin. He was of the Baptist faith and a lifelong member of VFW Post No. 3122. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. During his tenure in the Navy, he fought in North Africa, Sicily and France. He received four Battle Stars, the American Theatre Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre Medal, Good Conduct Bar and the Victory Medal World War II. He was retired from the Union Utility Department. Survivors include two daughters, Vivian F. Colson and Lora F. Black of Union; two sisters, Gaynell F. Trantham of Union and Ethel "Pee Wee" Pennington of Clinton; a brother, Haskell Franklin of Buffalo; a granddaughter and three grandsons. The family is at the home and will receive friends from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. today at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Union Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Lacy Jones.
