Charlene was born to Lee and Ernestine (Middletent) Azure on May 4, 1964 at Chamberlain, SD. She grew up in the Fort Thompson area with temporary moves in her lifetime. She graduated from Crow Creek High School in 1982. Charlene worked various jobs including the Lodestar Casino and due to health reasons she left her last employment with the Crow Creek Tribal Schools in 2015. Charlene was a very caring person especially to her grandchildren she helped care for D. Grooms and Tyson Azure-Smith. Charlene had many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren of her siblings she loved dearly and tried to keep in contact throughout the years. Charlene was a quiet person never asking for help, enjoyed reading, playing casino machines, and spending time with family and friends. Charlene is survived by her brothers: Bruce, Darrell, and Danial Azure; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and other relatives. Charlene is greeted by her father and mother, sisters: Laurel and Camilla, brother: Leonard; grandparents: Ernest and Adeline (Red Day) Middletent; Patrick and Ida (Toomes) Azure; and other relatives and friends. Luze Funeral Home of Highmore has been entrusted with Charlene’s arrangements.
