ATCHISON — Charles A. Campbell, 79, of Atchison, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at his home.
Charlie was born January 10, 1932 in Pittsburg, KS the son of the late Charles C. and Beulah (Clark) Campbell.
He graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1950 and served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
Charlie attended Pittsburg State University where he received his Master's Degree in Education in 1956.
Charlie was the shop teacher at Atchison High School retiring in 1996....

ATCHISON — Charles A. Campbell, 79, of Atchison, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at his home.
Charlie was born January 10, 1932 in Pittsburg, KS the son of the late Charles C. and Beulah (Clark) Campbell.
He graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1950 and served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
Charlie attended Pittsburg State University where he received his Master's Degree in Education in 1956.
Charlie was the shop teacher at Atchison High School retiring in 1996. While teaching, Charlie coached basketball and instructed the driver's education course.
He was a member of the First Christian Church where he was a Deacon, VFW Post #1175, American Legion Post #6 and Life member of the NEA.
Charlie enjoyed golfing, attending his coffee clubs, cooking for the bible study class, hunting, fishing and attending his poker club.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by many.
Charlie married Carolyn J. Edwards on November 20, 1955 in Pittsburg, KS. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include a son, Steven Campbell, Atchison, KS; daughters, Connie (Mark) Dierking, Palm Harbor, FL; Cheryl (Ken) Novander, Ivanhoe, IL; Cathy Hajok, Flower Mound, TX; and nine grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the First Christian Church with Rev. Lee Hendon officiating.
Burial of cremated remains will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 PM Tuesday at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home.
Memorials in honor of Mr. Campbell are suggested to the First Christian Church Scholarship Fund or Atchison Hospital Hospice and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
