Robison, 69, native son of Indian Creek township and one of the well known residents of that part of the county, died at Iowa sanitarium Friday evening about 9:15, from the effects of a serious attack of pneumonia suffered about five weeks ago. Following the long siege with pneumonia during the serious trouble developed in his lungs he was removed from his home Iowa sanitarium where he submitted to an operation for removal of the complications. The operation was an emergency one and it was realized from that time on that there was little reason to expect recovery. Member of the family were with him when he passed away last evening. The funeral will be held at Central Presbyterian church Monday afternoon at 3:00, after which interment will be in the Nevada cemetery. It will be a Masonic burial, the deceased having been an active member of that order. The sermon will be preached by Rev. Wadding of Des Moines, former pastor of the Maxwell Presbyterian church. Mr. Robison leaves besides the wife and daughter, Mrs. Hazel Golden; three brothers and two sisters. The brothers are George G. Robison of 836 Lincoln avenue, Nevada, R. A. "Bert" Robison of west E avenue, Nevada and Edward H. Robison of Long Beach, Calif.; while the sisters are Mrs. Fannie Proctor of 521 Sixth street, Nevada, and Mrs. Emma Maxwell of Maxwell. Charles A. Robison, native of Indian Creek township, Story county was born on the old Robison homestead in that township October 7, 1864, son of R. A. and Nancy Greer-Robison, pioneers of this county. He spent his boyhood days under the parental roof, was educated in the local schools and in 1888 started out farming on his own account, first on a portion of the family homestead. He was united in marriage October 19 of that year to Miss Fannie Emery of the Iowa Center neighborhood. One daughter was born to this union and she with the wife survives the deceased. The daughter is Mrs. Hazel Golden who lives with her husband but a few miles from the parental homestead. Shortly after his marriage Mr. Robison purchased and took up his home on a farm in section 6 Indian Creek township, six miles south of Nevada and there developed one of the most highly improved farmsteads in that part of the county. Always active in the public affairs of the neighborhood he had held various positions of public trust and had been politically an active member of the Republican party. He had long been a member of the Masonic and Odd Fellows lodges and had for years been a member of Za-Ga-Zig Temple of the Mystic Shrine in Des Moines. Of later years Mr. and Mrs. Robison had retired more or less from the activities of farm work, but had continued their home on the place where they had spent so many happy years of their married life. While with Mrs. Robison he had spent a winter or so in California, he had continued his home in the neighborhood in which he was born and raised and there he was respected as an honorable and upright citizen, claiming among his most staunch friends those who had known him from boyhood.
