Read More	Chas. A. Wilkison, Eagle township farmer and widely known auctioneer, died suddenly about 8:30 Monday morning at his home, seven miles northeast of Hawarden. Sunday evening he complained of a pain in his chest and shoulder and did not sleep well that night. He arose fairly early Monday morning and after breakfast went outside to assist with the chores about the place. He had been outside but a short time when he was seized with an apparent heart attack but was able to return to the house unassisted. His suffering at once became intense and members of the family assisted in getting him to bed and Dr. F.F. Null was summoned. Dr. Null responded immediately to the call and had just reached the house and started to make an examination when Mr. Wilkison suddenly expired. Funeral services were held at the Frank Pacobe home and at the Associated church in Hawarden Wednesday afternoon with Rev. T. H. Harding in charge. The male quartette of the church sang special hymns. Interment was made in Grace Hill cemetery. Charles A. Wilkison was born at Warrensburg, Ill., Jan. 25, 1880, so was just past 57 years of age at the time of his death. He located at Alcester more than twenty-five years ago at which time he formed a partnership with his brother, Roy Wilkison, in the auctioneering business and during the intervening years the firm of Wilkison Bros. has cried most of the farm sales in the territory tributary to Hawarden, Alcester, Beresford, Hudson and Akron. Mr. Wilkison thus acquired a wide circle of friends and acquaintances who were shocked at his sudden death. While Roy Wilkison located in Hawarden, Charles resided at Alcester and Beresford for a considerable number of years although he was almost equally as well known here. During the last ten years, however, he has made his home in the Hawarden community. He was united in marriage with Mrs. Margaret Schiefen on Aug. 21, 1930, and they have since resided on her farm in Eagle township. Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters and a son by a former marriage, Mrs. Alice Opland, Beresford; Mrs. F. L. Ford, Oxford, Iowa, and Miss Delsie and Ralph Wilkison of Hawarden. He also leaves seven step-children, Dorothy, Helen, Paul, Philip, Frank, Vincent and Joe Schiefen. His aged mother, Mrs. Ida Wilkison, and two sisters, Mrs. W. V. Snow and Mrs. Otto Wegner, all of Odebolt, Iowa, and one brother, Roy Wilkison of Hawarden, also survive him. In addition he leaves four grandchildren. Hawarden Independent 3/4/1937
