Read More	Obituary from the Mason City Globe Gazette, 12/31/1946, pg. 13: Aged iowa Falls Resident Dies Charles Mark Active in Community Affairs Iowa Falls - Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at the Wood funeral chapel for Charles A. Mark, 81, who died at Ellsworth municipal hospital Monday following a brief illness. Burial will be made in Union cemetery. He was a lifelong resident of Iowa Falls. He was born March 20, 1865, son of Edward and Sally Lane Mark, pioneer settlers of Iowa Falls. March 20, 1888 he married Miss Ida Jane Fitz. Last March they observed their 58th wedding anniversary. He was a successful farmer, and took an active part in community affairs. In 1897 he helped organize the Farmers Co-operative Creamery company, and was president of the organization for 15 years. He was one of the organizers of the Farmers Co-Operative Elevator company in 1906, and served as its president for 20 years. He raised fine stock, and brought the first purebred Holstein cattle to this vicinity. In 1901 he was one of the organizers of the first rural telephone line out of Iowa Falls. He leaves his wife, 2 daughters, Mrs. H.J. Stiner of Santa Ana, Cal., and Mrs. Frank Woodruff of Cabool, Mo.; 2 sons, George, who lives on the home farm near Iowa Falls; and Leroy, also of Iowa Falls; 6 grandchildren, 4 great-granchildren; a sister, Mrs. J.W. Fitz of Alhambra, Cal., and a brother, Walter, of Princeton, Minn.
