Description	:	Charles Dalby, 79, of Scribner died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at Fremont Area Medical Center. The Lord received Charles Dalby on Monday, Sept. 3, 2007. He was born April 27, 1928, in Arcadia to Thomas and Ethel Dalby. He attended grade school in Pleasant Valley and graduated from Arcadia High School in 1947. The Lord received Charles Dalby on Monday, Sept. 3, 2007. He was born April 27, 1928, in Arcadia to Thomas and Ethel Dalby. He attended grade school in Pleasant Valley and graduated from Arcadia High School in 1947. He married Janet Goetz on Aug. 26, 1951, in Pilger. He resided in the Scribner area most of his life. A lifetime electrician, he was employed after graduation in Wyoming building power lines. He worked for Consumers Public Power on the construction crew and transferred into the Scribner Consumer Public Power District until 1969 when he went to work at Iowa Beef in West Point as plant electrician. After retiring in 1991, he continued doing what he loved, electrical work for people in the area. He was an active member of the Scribner Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad for 18 years. He also served as leader of the Webloes Boy Scouts. He was a member of United Lutheran Church in Scribner where he served on the church council. Survivors include: his wife, Janet; two daughters, Cathy (and husband, Jerry) Dorfmeyer of Lexington and Joyce (and husband, Gary) Stammer of Fremont; a son, David Dalby of Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Gayle Stephenson of Walden, Colo.; two brothers, Raymond (and wife, Shirley) Dalby of Eagle and Willis (and wife, Polly) Dalby of Waxlaw, N.C.; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a special aunt, Dorothy Jackson of Wickett, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Charles will be missed by lots of nieces, nephews and friends. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at United Lutheran Church in Scribner with the Rev. Dr. Nicki McIntyre officiating. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in Pilger Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to United Lutheran Church and the Scribner Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad. From Fremont Tribune - September 04, 2007
