Coslet were held here Saturday Afternoon Charles B. Coslet was born in Mankato, Minn., October 5, 1878. He was the eldest son of the late Rev. Alonzo and Rosanna Coslet who spent many years in the itinerancy of the Methodist church on the frontiers of Nebraska, the Black Hills of South Dakota, Montana, Utah and Oregon. The limited support of a pioneer minister made a deep impression on the mind of Charles in his boyhood days and his independent spirit led him to seek some substantial means to increase the family budget. He dearly loved the "wide-open spaces" and found a friend in the Superintendent of the western division of the Union Pacific Railroad, who gave him his first opportunity to accompany him on his travels in the wilds of Wyoming. At the age of about 17 he found an opening to work with the 'Cattle in the hills." His natural-born love for horses soon made him a Bronco buster that served him well in the western stock business. Personal incidents and thrilling experiences showing his strong convictions and wisdom could be multiplied many times but his modesty and reserve made boasting unbecoming and an unknown quality in his life. Mr. Coslet united in marriage to Miss Blanche Hanks at Moore, Mont., on December 25, 1905, and to this union were born two children--one son, Charles B., Jr., and one daughter, Opal )Mrs. Thomas T. Jackson,) both of Denton. The deceased has been an esteemed and respected citizen of Fergus county for 39 years; his influence has been a real help in building this community. His honesty was outstanding and his word as good as a bond. His wife passed away August 21, 1940. His two children, four grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. A.J. Armstrong of Tacoma, Wash., Mrs. L.W. Warner of Grandview, Wash., Mrs. Charles Paden of Yakima, Wash., and a brother, Art Coslet, of Helena, Mont., remain to mourn the loss of a loving father, grandfather and brother.--Contributed. Mr. Coselt passed from this life about 5:30 on the morning of July 18th, following a series of heart attacks the preceding afternoon and night, which were probably brought on by over-exertion on Monday when he made a trip over on old, unused road, which was in terrible condition, to Chas. Allen's place. Although he was in extreme pain at times the pain left him completely about 20 minutes before he expired and he was conscious until his last breath. Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Denton Methodist church with the Rev. Earle G. McKnight of Fort Benton officiating. The funeral arrangements were in charge of Croxford's Mortuary of Great Falls assisted by Cole Bros., and burial was made in Hillcrest cemetery beside the remains of the deceased's wife. Mr. Croxford sang two heart-touching solos, being accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Dr. Carl W. Turner. The floral offerings were unusually profuse and beautiful and a large crowd was in attendance to pay their final respects to the departed. Pallbearers were O.T. Coffman, Jas. Dunphy, Earl Spurgeon, Louis Allen, E.B. Shaw, and Matt Reichmuth. Out-of-town relatives in attendance were Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Paden and Mrs. Lockwood Martin of Yakima, Wash., and Rev. and Mrs. A.J. Armstrong of Tacoma, Wash.
