Description	:	Charles B. Davis was born near Taylorville, Christian county, Illinois, June 8, 1874. He was the youngest son of John T. and Margaret Swift Davis. He passed away at his home in Beaver Crossing on March 4, 1949 at the age of 74 years, 8 months and 26 days. At the age of 5 years he moved with his parents from Illinois to a farm south of Friend, Nebr., later moving to Beaver Crossing where he lived most of the time until his death. He was the youngest son of John T. and Margaret Swift Davis. He passed away at his home in Beaver Crossing on March 4, 1949 at the age of 74 years, 8 months and 26 days. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Esteele Smith September 10, 1896. To this union were born four children: Mrs. Daisy D. Tipsword, Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Margaret A. Ogilvie, Scottsbluff, Nebr., Mrs. Dolly R. Geis, Lincoln, and Horace S. Davis, Caldwell, Idaho, who with his wife survive him, also 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and a sister, Nellie Clark of Beaver Crossing, two brothers, Lon of Seattle and Harry of San Quentin, Calif., and a host of relatives and friends. He was baptized into the Christian faith in 1896 and was a member of the Presbyterian church at Utica. Was also a member of the Townsend Club and served as its president six years. He was a good and kind husband and father, enjoying his home and family and loved by all who knew him. He will be missed by a host of friends who have known him for many years. Out of town relatives attending the funeral were Mr. Frank C. Smith of Des Moines, Iowa; Mr. Horace S. Davis of Caldwell, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Tipsword, Denver, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Ogilvie, Scottsbluff, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Geis and family, Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cromwell, Seward and Mrs. Will Hampp and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pedersen of Goehner.
