Mr. Bateman was a former active member of the K of P Lodge at Straughn and the Odd Fellows Lodge at Lewisville. He was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Toms of Lewisville; a granddaughter, Mrs. Glenn Hubbell of Milton; two grandsons: John and Mark Hubbell both of Milton; and several nieces and nephews. The body has been taken from the Doll Funeral Home in Dublin to the residence where friends may call and where services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock with Rev. John D.
