Treverton Warren in charge of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Gaston. Interment was made in the Purdom Cemetery. Charles Benjamin Gove Charles Benjamin Gove was born near Hoppers Mill, Henderson county, Illinois, October 18, 1869, passing away at Keosauqua, Iowa, January 25, 1947, at the age of 77 years, 2 months and 29 days, surrounded by those he loved. He was the eldest son of Rodney and Kathryn Gove. He grew to manhood in Illinois, locating in Raritan where he was in business several years. On May 31, 1893, he was united in marriage with Ella Gulick. To this union were born four children: Mildred, Gordon, Lowell and Claire. Mildred preceded him in death when a small infant. He and his family moved to Van Buren County, Iowa, in 1900, returning to Illinois in the year 1902. They returned to Iowa in 1906 where he farmed near Keosauqua as long as his health permitted, moving to Keosauqua in 1943. In early life he confessed the love of his Savior. He was a member of the Woodman Lodge for 51 years and was active in all lodge activities. He made friends easily and will be greatly missed in the community where he lived so long, especially by children who loved him greatly. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and two sisters. Surviving him are his wife, Ella Gove, his two sons, Gordon and Lowell and one daughter, Mrs. Ray Brownlee; his sister, Mrs. Perry Pendarvis; one brother, Frank Gove of Keosauqua, three grandchildren; four great grandchildren and many relatives and friends. - - - - - Those from a distance attending the funeral of C.B. Gove included: Mr. and Mrs. Regie Cash and Mrs. Isabelle Reed of Raritan, Ill., Mr. and Mr. Raymond Cash of Stranghurst, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Roland Harvey and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Harvey of Galesburg, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Knappenberger of Macomb, Ill., Mr. Wilson Marston of Blandinsville, Ill., Mrs. Grove Keane of Media, Ill., Mrs. Lena Tinsman of Smithshire, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Will Hartley, Mrs. Ray Mean and Mrs. Ed Graff of Keokuk, Mrs. Kenneth Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Hayes Brownlee of Ottumwa.
