Description	:	Charles Bruce Sibert, 86, of Emmett, passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, in a Boise care center, after a three year battle with Alzheimers disease. Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 11, under the direction of the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett. Bruce was born at Miller, Neb., in a sod house that his parents homesteaded, to Charles F. and Lela (Tibbetts) Sibert, on March 7, 1915, while a blizzard was raging. He went through the 8th grade in a country school located on his folks farm, and graduated from Miller High School in 1932. On Feb. 10, 1945, he married Inez Ray at her parents home at Tekamah. The young couple made their home also at Tekamah. As a son and daughter joined the family, the Siberts farmed until 1960, when they moved to Caldwell. Bruce enjoyed doing leather work, photography and gave a couple of slide shows at the Caldwell Library. He also took pleasure in counted cross-stitch and dancing, helping his wife set up the Jolly Time Dance Club. The loves of his life were horses and wood working, of which he filled their home with beautiful furniture. He was also an employee of the Emmett Irrigation District until he retired. He liked to travel and did so throughout Canada, Australia and most of the United States. Survivors include his wife, Inez; a daughter, Vicky Meyer of Meridian; a son, Bruce D. Sibert and wife, Marlene of Homedale; grandsons, Joe Sibert and wife, Kim of Kuna, Sam Sibert serving in the Navy, Gary Meyer and wife, Tatia of Orem, Utah; granddaughter, Sharon Cox and husband, Curtis of Florence, Mont.; and six great-grandchildren. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lucille and husband, Bill Hannon; Jean and husband, Kenny Cool, Betty and husband, John Stork; and a very dear friend, Carl Porter. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Presbyterian Church in Emmett, Life Care Center of Treasure Valley in Boise or to Lifes Doors Hospice.
