Read More	Salisbury Evening Sun, Monday, 24 July 1905, pg 1: Spencer, July 24 - The funeral of Mr. Charles C. burton, who died suddenly at his home here Friday night, was conducted from Spencer Methodist church at 5 o’clock yesterday afternoon, by the pastor, Rev. J.E. Gay, an unusually large concourse of people being in attendance. The deceased was an esteemed member of the International Association of Machinists, and the Spencer members of this organization attended in a body, the pallbearers for the occasion being choses from the membership of the association. Owing to the prominence of Mr. Burton and the untimeliness of his death, more than ordinary interest was manifested in the funeral. Only last Sunday, he himself acted as pallbearer in the same church in which his own funeral was conducted today. He was in ordinary health until Friday night. He retired at his unusual hour, but members of the family found him in a dying condition an hour afterwards, and every effort was made to revive him, but no avail. Death is supposed to have resulted from a serious affection of the heart. The deceased, who as about 21 years of age, was a son of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Burton, of this place, and was a model young man. The interment was in the Spencer cemetery. Salisbury Evening Post, Thurs 6 June 1912, pg 1: REMOVED BODY The body of Charley Burton was exhumed today and removed from the Spencer cemetery to Chestnut Hill cemetery, Salisbury. The work of removing the body was in charge of M.A. Shank, keeper of the Chestnut Hill cemetery. The monument which was erected at the grave in Spencer is also to be removed. Charlie [sic] Burton was a son of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Burton of Spencer. His death occurred about five years ago. Some time since Mr. and Mrs. Burton secured a beautiful plot in the Chestnut Hill cemetery and will make it the family burial place. ===========(submitted by OBXr)
