Description	:	Carl Bush, Sr. was born at Horn, Lippedetmold, Germany, January 26, 1850. He came to America at the age of 18 months and settled at Rick Grove, Ill. Later he moved to Ackley, Iowa and still later to Piermont, Mo. He came to Creighton in 1883. July 17, 1884 he was married to Pauline Meyer. Two children were born to them, Carl Jr. and Gladys. He leaves two brothers, Fred of this city and William of Clearmont, Mo. and one sister, Rachel at Maryville, Mo. He died Dec 23 at 12:30 a.m. after an illness of several months from dropsy and a complication... Read More	Carl Bush, Sr. was born at Horn, Lippedetmold, Germany, January 26, 1850. He came to America at the age of 18 months and settled at Rick Grove, Ill. Later he moved to Ackley, Iowa and still later to Piermont, Mo. He came to Creighton in 1883. July 17, 1884 he was married to Pauline Meyer. Two children were born to them, Carl Jr. and Gladys. He died Dec 23 at 12:30 a.m. after an illness of several months from dropsy and a complication of ailments. The funeral was held from the Congregational church, conducted by Rev. W.A. Alcorn. It was largely attended. the A.O.U.W. came as a body, he being a member. At the age of 14 years, he united with the German Lutheran church, but on account of the absence of his own communion here, he affiliated with the Congregational church with his wife and daughter are also members. He told friends that he was ready to die and had no fear of making his appearance in the world beyond. Mr. Bush has been in the grain business here with his brother, Fred, for a number of years until they recently sold out to the Wagner Brothers. He was a steady and industrious man and one, who was strictly honest and straight forward both in his commercial and private life. He died without an enemy, which is a sufficient indication of the good will he has from the people among whom he has spent his life.
