Description	:	Charles "Chuck" Studney, age 84, of Grand Forks, ND, departed this life after fighting a courageous battle with colon cancer. His wife and family were at his bedside at the time of his death. Chuck was born in Pisek, ND to Victor and Elizabeth (Tupa) Studney. He attended school in Pisek, ND and worked with his father on the family farm until he was drafted into the military. Read More	Charles "Chuck" Studney, age 84, of Grand Forks, ND, departed this life after fighting a courageous battle with colon cancer. His wife and family were at his bedside at the time of his death. Chuck was born in Pisek, ND to Victor and Elizabeth (Tupa) Studney. He attended school in Pisek, ND and worked with his father on the family farm until he was drafted into the military. Chuck entered the army on Nov. 18, 1942 and was honorably discharged on Nov. 8, 1945. He served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater as a tank driver and gunner. Chuck was with the troops that landed on Normandy Beach and served under General Patton. Chuck was a member of the DAV, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. After the military, Chuck built grain elevators and was a heavy equipment operator. Chuck moved to Grand Forks where he drove transport truck for Hvidsten and Indianhead. When he retired from truck driving, Chuck drove the Senior Citizen Bus until 1999. Chuck was united in marriage to Bridgett (Sobolik) Morgan at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pisek, ND on October 17, 1960. Bridgett was Chuck's school sweetheart. Chuck and Bridgett rekindled their romance after Bridgett's first husband died. Chuck enjoyed sitting on the deck and talking to his good friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed working with his sons and son-in-law whenever there was a project to be done in their home or his home. Chuck always had good advice when it came to building things. Chuck also enjoyed dancing, camping, and family gatherings. Later in his life he enjoyed going to the casino. Chuck loved and enjoyed his children and all of his grandchildren. The last few months of his life he looked forward to having his family in his room, sitting on his bed, while visiting with him. Survivors include his wife and partner for life, Bridgett (Sobolik) Studney, sons, Darren (Janelle) Studney of Grand Forks, ND, and Manes Morgan of Pisek, ND; daughters Corrine Morgan of Park River, ND, and Juanita (Joe) Peterka of Grand Forks, ND.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Mae Studney of Citrus Heights CA, and Minnie Rounds of Orting WA, and several nieces and nephews. Chuck was preceded in his death by his parents Victor and Elizabeth (Tupa) Studney; brother Steve and sisters, Maxine Dub, Georgia Greciar, and Bridget Chromy. Mass of Christian Burial: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005 in the Holy family Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND. Visitation: 5 to 7 pm. Monday with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service and a 4:30 p.m. rosary service in Gregory J. Norman – Norman Funeral Home, Grand Forks, ND and one hour before mass at the church on Tuesday. Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND. Military Honors: American Legion Post 157 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3817, East Grand Forks, MN
