Charles Knoblock, a resident of Coffey county practically all of the 82 years of his life, died at 9:15 o'clock Tuesday morning, August 18, 1942 at the hospital at Osawatomie where he had been for several weeks. Mr Knoblock had fallen some time ago and broke his hip. He was in the hospital at Emporia for a long time. He came to Coffey county when very young. He is survived by his wife of the home and by three sons: Frank Knoblock of Washington D. C., John Knoblock of Lemoore, Calif., and Charles Knoblock of Long Beach, Calif. The three have been notified of their father's dath. Funeral arrangements will not be completed until word is received from them. Funeral services for Charles Knoblock were held at 10:30 o'clock Saturday morning from the Burlingotn Methodist church and were conducted by Rev J. J. Wolfe, Mrs. W. A. Woods and Miss Evalena Conrad, accompanied by Mrs. T. T. Kelly, sang " The Old Rugged Cross", "Going Down the Valley" and " The City Four Square". Pallbearers were Jacob Sharr, Sam Shoup, Orville Hanen, John Meek, Tom Hunt and John Kellerman. Interment was in Graceland cemetery. Charles C. Knoblock was born December 23, 1859 at Lafayette, Ind., and passed from this life August 18, 1942, at the age of 82 years, seven months and 15 days. He was the son of Jacob and Dicy Knoblock. On November 18, 1889 he was united in marriage to Mary Burge, at Burlington, three sons were born to this union, John Knoblock of Lemoore, Calif, Frank Knoblock of Arlington, Va., and Charlie Knoblock of Long Beach, Calif. Mr. Knoblock came to Kansas when a young man, locating on Big creek, where he lived for a number of years, later he moved to the Bethel community where he lived for 25 years, moving to Burlington 22 years ago where he has since made his home until last January when he fell, breaking his hip and it became necessary for him to enter the hospital. He was a properous farmer and was well liked by all. He spent most of his life on the farm and was always ready and willing to help a neighbor or a friend. Mr. Knoblock was a member of the Methodist church, at the time of his death. Earlier in life he was an active church worker until health failed. He leaves to morn his passing his wife, Mary Knoblock, three sons, John, Frank and Charles; five granddaughters, Herberta, Marlyn and Elner Knoblock of Arlington, Va., Herriett and Susan Linn Knoblock of Long Beach, Calif., Four Grandsons Roger Knoblock of Lemoore Calif, Frank Jr. Jack and Charles.
