Clinton Landholm September 25, 1921 ~ June 22, 2016 C. Clinton Landholm, 94, of Wausa, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Golden Living Center in Wausa. He was born on September 25, 1921, the son of Charles and Eva (Erickson) Landholm, at Wausa. He was baptized on July 9, 1922, and later confirmed at Thabor Lutheran Church. Clinton attended school at District 92 in Cedar County and graduated from Wausa High School in 1938. Clinton was drafted into the United States Army in July of 1943 and served in Alaska with the 215th Coast Artillery Anti-Aircraft and in the European Theatre with the 525th Engineering Company. He was honorably discharged in October of 1945, and returned to the family farm to help his father. On August 31, 1951, he was united in marriage to Viola Bjorkman at Thabor Lutheran Church in Wausa. Three children were born to them: Mark, Conrad, and Mary Ann. Clinton and Viola lived on a farm east of Wausa where they raised their children. Clinton was the third generation of Landholms to live on the same farm. He was a dairy farmer, raised hogs and various crops. Clinton was also an Archer Oil Dealer. In 1994, Clinton and Viola moved from the farm into Wausa. In his spare time, Clinton enjoyed carpentry work and was in a couples bowling league with his wife. Clinton was a member of Thabor Lutheran Church in Wausa. He served on the church council and taught Sunday School. Clinton also served on the Election Board for Precinct 18 in Cedar County and was a 4-H Leader. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Roy Carlson Post 5824. Clinton was a proud member of the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. to visit the World War II Veterans Memorial in April of 2012. Clinton is survived by: his children, Mark (Dee) Landholm, Conrad Landholm and Mary Ann (Jim) Stender;; three grandchildren, Anika Landholm, Katrina (Brad) Balak, and James Landholm; two great-grandsons, Carter and Landon Balak; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Viola on May 9, 2016; brother, Chester (Lois) Landholm; sister, Gladys (Kelly) Magnuson; and brother-in-law, Edward (Ethel) Bjorkman. Funeral services on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Thabor Lutheran Church in Wausa. Burial in Thabor Lutheran Cemetery in Wausa. Obituary information from Brockhaus Funeral Home.
