His residence is in Stockton, but he had gone to Turlock on a visit to his farm. We knew Mr. Dallas and his family as far back as 1850, when they first settled in Stockton. The pioneer livery of any note at that early period in Stockton, was established and kept by Wolfe and Dallas, Wolfe still lives, and a large stable bearing his name, is still upon the premises. Mr. Dallas' family consisted of his wife and several children, among them were two girls who afterwards became the wives of Lu Hickman, and Jeffries, the painter, who, we believe are still living. Mr. Dallas' first wife died in Stockton quite a number of years ago. He afterwards married a widow of considerable wealth, residing near Sonora.
