Description	:	Charles Dana Cone was born Marion, Iowa. January 1, 1850 and passed away at the home of his son in this city on Tuesday, March 11 from general debility, following an illness of several days. He was married to Amanda Roby at Carrol City, Iowa on March 18, 1874. To this union was born five children. The mother died at Parker, S.D. November 15. 1885. Read More	Charles Dana Cone was born Marion, Iowa. January 1, 1850 and passed away at the home of his son in this city on Tuesday, March 11 from general debility, following an illness of several days. He was married to Amanda Roby at Carrol City, Iowa on March 18, 1874. To this union was born five children. The mother died at Parker, S.D. November 15. 1885. Two children died in youth, and Nellie Bowers died near Beulah November 15, 1918. The surviving children are Mrs. R. J. Hayes of Center. N. Dak., and Dana Cone of Beulah. Three of the family died on November of different years. The deceased was a teacher, clerk of courts, attorney-at-law, District attorney in Dakota under Cleveland's administration and a member of the Territorial convention, the Constitution for the state of South Dakota. Later he was a miniater of the gospel in the Methodist Episcopal going then onto the lecture platform for several years. He was assistant state organizer of the National Children's Home Society in Kansas and district superintendent of the same organization in Arkansas. He returned to Dakota in 1915 to be with his children. Funeral services were conducted from the Baptist church on Wednesday afternoon, and Rev Jones, the officiating clergyman, delivered a very beautiful funeral sermon. Interment was made in the Beulah cemetery. Although the deceased had been A resident of this community for only a comparatively short time, he had made many friends who admired him for his many sterling qualities, and who will join with the Independent in extending expressions of heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
