Description	:	A car accident Saturday night claimed the life of one of Chelan' native sons, Dean Rubin. Funeral services for Charles Dean Rubin were held Wednesday. Dean, as he has always been called, was born in Chelan and spent practically all of his life here except while serving in the US Army. He served in World War II in company C. 11th Armored Infantry Division, and was in the battle of Northern France Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe and had also served in the army of occupation in Europe. Funeral services for Charles Dean Rubin were held Wednesday. Dean, as he has always been called, was born in Chelan and spent practically all of his life here except while serving in the US Army. He served in World War II in company C. 11th Armored Infantry Division, and was in the battle of Northern France Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe and had also served in the army of occupation in Europe. He went overseas in October of 1944 and returned to the states in April 1946. He was honorable discharged as staff sergeant in May, 1946. He died Saturday night, May 24, when injured in a car accident. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Mario Rubin, his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. B. Suran of Portland, Oregon; a half brother, Private Roland Suran of the US Army and his grandmother, Mrs. Charles Rubin of Chelan. Coming from out of town for the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Suran, Mrs. Suran's brother, Denzil Smith, and Mrs. A. A. McIntosh, all of Portland.
