Ashley Charles E. Ashley died at his home in the south part of Geneva, Sunday morning, May 3, 1914, aged 75 years, 7 months and 1 day. Mr. Ashley had been in failing health for some time. Mr. Ashley was an old soldier and a member of Wilson post G.A.R. He was one of the early settlers of the county and had resided in Geneva for many years. He is survived by his wife, three daughters and one son. The son, George Ashley, resides in Colorado but has been here for several weeks. One daughter from Oklahoma was present at the funeral. The other daughters reside in Colorado and Wyoming. The funeral services were held at the home at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon and the remains were taken to Edgar that afternoon where Interment was made beside the mother and father of Mr. Ashley. The services were conducted by Rev. C.E. Per Lee of the Geneva Christian church. Members of the G.A.R. acted as pall bearers. Marion Walker accompanied the family to Edgar.
