Description	:	Charles Edward (Butch) Kelley, 74, of Ottumwa, a native of Farmington, was found dead in his car at Marina Gateway, along the Des Moines river in Ottumwa, where he had gone fishing on Friday, May 30. Authorities believe death was due to a heart attack. He was the son of Charles H. and Alma Hartrick Kelley, and was born June 4, 1905. Authorities believe death was due to a heart attack. He was the son of Charles H. and Alma Hartrick Kelley, and was born June 4, 1905. He graduated from Farmington high school and served in the US Army in World War II. He married Margaret (Peg) Galloway Kerr on Nov. 26, 1953. Mr. Kelley, a resident of Ottumwa since 1937, was a retired butcher who since 1971 had been employed as an attendant at Third Street parking lot. He was a member of the American Legion. Surviving: The wife; brother Horton Kelley, and sister Dorothea Kelley, both of Farmington. Funerals were held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Reece Funeral home, Ottumwa with the Cecil I. Simonton and the Rev. Charles P. Rinkel, Jr. officiating; and at 3 p.m. Monday at the Hofbauer funeral home in Farmington with Robert Hambright officiating. Burial was in Greenglade cemetery, Farmington, with military rites. Memorials to the Hear Fund and the Farmington United Methodist Church have been established. Source: Van Buren Co.
