Born April 19, 1934, in Cumberland, MD, Mr. O'Donnell was the son of the late Paul E. O'Donnell and Gertrude Bradley (Brotemarkle) O'Donnell. Read More	CUMBERLAND, MARYLAND —- Charles Edward O'Donnell, 87, of Cumberland, MD, passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at UPMC Western Maryland, surrounded by his family. Born April 19, 1934, in Cumberland, MD, Mr. O'Donnell was the son of the late Paul E. O'Donnell and Gertrude Bradley (Brotemarkle) O'Donnell. He was also preceded in death by John and Alberta "Dessie" Lindner, who raised him; as well as a brother: Paul W. O'Donnell; and a daughter: Teresa A. O'Donnell. Charles was a graduate of LaSalle High School, Class of 1953, and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He retired from the United States Postal Service with 36 years of service. Charles was a member of Our Lady of the Mountains Parish Saint Patrick's Church, the Knights of Columbus #586, and the F.O.E #245. For over 50 years, he enjoyed bowling. Charles is survived by his wife of 61 years: Secreta M. (Zufall) O'Donnell; two sons: Brian O'Donnell and wife, Cindy; Bruce O'Donnell and wife, Karen; his daughter: Joyce O'Very and husband, Alvin; his sisters: Margaret Woodring; and Shirley Gurtler; his grandchildren: Travis O'Donnell; Kevin O'Donnell and wife, Sarah; Emily O'Donnell; Kaylynd Brown and husband, Dalton; Melissa Leeson and husband, Larry, Kiersten O'Donnell; Teddi O'Very; Taylor O'Very; and Tara O'Donnell; as well as two great grandchildren: Bella and Harper Leeson. Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Mountains Parish Saint Patrick's Church, Cumberland, on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 11:00 A.M., with Father James Watson, O.F.M. Cap., as celebrant. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
