Description	:	MT. PLEASANT,SOUTH CAROLINA -- Charles Edward Robinson, Sr., 87, formerly of Cumberland, passed away surrounded by his family in Mt. Pleasant, SC on December 1, 2005 after a lengthy illness. Mr. Robinson, son of the late Powell and Lois Robinson, is survived by his devoted wife Kathryn. They recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. He is also survived by three sons, Charles Edward, Jr. of Longview, WA, Frank David of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Richard Powell of Port St. Lucie, FL, and a daughter Mary Ann Michael of Apopka, FL. He left behind 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. One surviving... Read More	MT. Mr. Robinson, son of the late Powell and Lois Robinson, is survived by his devoted wife Kathryn. They recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. He is also survived by three sons, Charles Edward, Jr. of Longview, WA, Frank David of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Richard Powell of Port St. Lucie, FL, and a daughter Mary Ann Michael of Apopka, FL. He left behind 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. One surviving sister, Floreen Sprague, lives in Acton, MA. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and neighbor. Until his retirement in 1973, Mr. Robinson was a successful mechanical contractor in Cumberland and the surrounding area for over 25 years. He was proud that he and his brother Gene, which recently passed away, were the longest surviving members of the Local Union 489 Plumbers and Steamfitters. He was a charter member of Memorial Heights Baptist Church and served as a deacon and trustee for many years. He was part of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and the Shriner's organizations of Cumberland. During his retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren, and woodworking. The family will receive relatives and friends at Scarpelli Funeral Home on Virginia Ave., on Saturday, December 10, 2005 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park on Bedford Rd., at 10:30 AM. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of Maryland, 11 Columbia St., Cumberland, MD 21502.
