Bigelow and Sabrina Utter Bigelow. His parents were pioneers of Bradford County, Pennsylvania, where they married. By 1844, his parents moved to Rock County, Wisconsin, where his mother Sabrina died in 1849. In 1856, Charles was living in the household of his father, Roderick D. Bigelow, in St. Charles, Floyd County, Iowa. His father was a blacksmith. On May 4, 1859, Charles married Ximenia Jackson, in Charles, Floyd County, Iowa. In 1860, Charles and his wife, Ximenia were seen in two census records. On the first, they were living in a household with a number of lodgers, in Charles, Floyd County, Iowa, where he is listed as a blacksmith. On the second, they were in the household of his father-in-law, Benjamin L. Jackson in Troy, Sauk, Wisconsin, where he is shown as a blacksmith. At some point thereafter, they moved to California, where their son, Judge Talmage Bigelow was born March 28, 1863, in Arcata, Humboldt County, California. Their daughter, Nellie, was born in Humboldt County, California, circa 1865. By 1870, Charles and Ximenia were living in Eureka, California, with their two children, Judge Talmage and Nellie. He continued the trade of blacksmith. Ten years later the family unit continued to live in Eureka, where he continued trade as blacksmith. Their son, Judge, did not marry. He died in 1923, in Alameda, California. Their daughter, Nellie, married Christian Andersen Boesen in Humboldt County, California, in 1884. After he died, in 1914, she married George Francis Bigelow, a cousin. Voter registration in Humboldt County, California in 1880 showed his name as Charles Edwin Bigelow. In 1892, his voter registration showed him living on 339 Bush Street, San Francisco, California. He died three years later. Ximenia, his widow, was listed in the U S City Directory living on 760 16th Street, Oakland, California, in 1907. She died in Alameda, California, but it is unknown at this time where she was buried.
