Born in Blacksburg, S.C. he was the husband of Harriette Wilson Parker and son of the late William Forrest Parker and Corrie Bratton Parker. He retired from textiles, was a U.S. Army veteran, loved his family especially his grandchildren, and was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Greg Parker and wife, Cindy of Gaffney; a daughter, Gina Parker Cofield and husband, Andy of Easley, S.C.; four brothers, Bobby Parker, Lee Parker and wife, Carolyn, Rev. Perrin Parker and wife, Diane, all of Blacksburg and Forrest Junior Parker and wife, Gerri of Kings Mountain, N.C.; a sister, Betty Harrington of Gaffney; a sister-in-law, Frances Parker of Blacksburg; four grandchildren, Nicholas Parker, Hayley Parker, Zakary Parker and Alexis Fortner. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Parker, Henry (Bate) Parker and Jake Parker and a sister, Leila Lyle. The family would like to extend their gratitude to special friends and caregivers Suzette and Benny Sharpe. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Buffalo Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Church with Rev. Robert Wells and Rev. Bruce Price officiating. Interment, with military honors, will be in the Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: New Harvest Church of God, 120 Boiling Springs Highway, Gaffney, S.C. 29341 or Buffalo Baptist Church, 618 Old Buffalo Church Road, Blacksburg, S.C. 29702 or Meals on Wheels, P.O.
