On the 4th of July there will be a reunion of the Crist families at the C.E. Crist's place. The Fremont Tribune, 10/18/1898 A Remarkable Remedy. C.E. Crist, of Elkhorn township, formerly a member of the Dodge county board of supervisors, was in the city today, and was asked regarding the health of his aged father, Isaiah Crist, a resident of Elkhorn township twenty-two years, who been very feeble lately. Mr. Crist replied, "He is better; and he can thank Grant's Sarsparilla that he is alive today." When asked for particulars, Mr. Crist said that his father, who is seventy-nine years of age, has been failing for some time, and three weeks ago was confined to bed, or at least could only sit up an hour or two each day. The attending physician sent him some medicine which he did not then describe the nature of, and the old gentlemen commenced taking it regularly. The results was that in a few days a remarkable improvement was noticeable in his condition, and he has continued to improve ever since. It was only three weeks ago that he commenced taking the medicine, which he now knows is Grant's Sarsaparilla, and he is now able to be about the house and is feeling better than he has for a long time. Mr. C.E. Crist was asked if he had any objection to the facts stated being made public, and he answered: "Cetainly not; I have so much confidence in this wonderful remedy that I am willing to assist in any reasonable way in bring it before the public. The Fremont Tribune, 2/7/1900 Mr. an Mrs. Charles Christ gave a very enjoyable dance last night at their farm home near Crist's lake. Many were present from about the neighborhood and the festivities did not cease until almost daylight. Mr. and Mrs. Crist were declared by all the guest to be royal entertainers. Published in the Blair Pilot October 8, 1924. Funeral services for C. E. Crist 74, were held Thursday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Arlington, Rev. Frank Williams officiating. Mr. Crist was born in Herkimer County, New York and in 1872 came to Nebraska settling east of Fremont where he lived twenty-nine years. Twenty-three years ago he moved to Arlington entering the confectionery business which he continued for five years, then moving to Eustis. For the last eighteen years he has been publisher of a weekly newspaper of Eustis. Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Morgan, Waterloo, Mrs. Monty Shields, Eustis and Mrs. Neva Thrasher, Eustis, one son, S. E. Crist, Eustis and one step son, John Brennan, of Spokane, Wash. Mrs. Charles McKeenan, of Fremont, and Mrs. Henry Close, of Arlington, are sisters of Mrs. Crist.
