L. Shekelton, was brought here yesterday for burial, and the service was held Monday afternoon. Burial was made in Mt. Hope cemetery. Rev. G. F. Barsalou, pastor of the Congregational church, officiated. Mr. Hinman had never lived in Maquoketa, but had spent most of his life in Jackson county, near Bellevue and Andrew. He was born July 19, 1855, at Lamont, Wyoming county, N. Y., the son of Ira P. and Lydia W. Hinman. At an early age he came with his family to this county. He was married at Bellevue, Aug. 26, 1886, to Miss Elizabeth Zentner, and she and five children survive him, three, Mae, Emma and Charles Jr., having preceded him in death. The children are Lydia, Mrs. C. E. Ehl, of near Andrew; Blance, Mrs. H. L. Shekelton, Marion; Nina, of Postville; Lizzie, of Glenwood, and Ira, a resident of Minneapolis. By trade he was a moulder in his earlier days, but in later years he followed the trade of mechanic. For some years he has lived at Postville, and Mrs. Hinman and daughter Nina will continue to make that place their home. The family came to Marion a few weeks ago that he might have better medical aid, but nothing could be done to stay the inevitable. Among those from a distance who attended the services yesterday were Mrs. Charles E. Hinman and daughter Nina, of Postville; Mr. and Mrs. Ira P. Hinman and daughters Betty and Patricia, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Shekelton, Alice and Bob, of Marion; Mr. and Mrs. Chris Ehl, Helena, Alice, Harold and Alfred, of Andrew; Mr. and Mrs. Will Zentner of Milwaukee, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Zentner and Mrs. John Zentner, of Clinton; Mr. and Mrs. William Ehl, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ehl and Mrs. Fred Cornelius, of Andrew; and Mr. and Mrs. George Zentner and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brandt of Bellevue.
