Rosary at the Mortuary Tuesday, 8 p.m. '''''''''' The People's Banner (David City, Nebr.), January 23, 1947, p. 1, col. 6 Former Bruno Man Died in Omaha Bruno – Following funeral services for Charles Hoskovec, 72, held at St. John’s church, Omaha, on Wednesday morning, Jan. 15, burial was in St. Anthony’s cemetery. Pallbearers accompanied the body from Omaha. Mr. Hoskovec was buried beside the grave of his wife, the former Frances Stava, who preceded him in death on July 2, 1942. Mr. Hoskovec, a former resident of Bruno, died in an Omaha hospital, where he had been taken the first of the year. His home was at 1017 North 29th st. He is survived by three sons and four daughters, all of whom were present at the funeral. They are George and Mrs. Hoskovec, Nick and Mrs. Hoskovec, Paul Hoskovec, Mr. and Mrs. Robertson (Natalie), Mr. and Mrs. Turnecek (Blanche) and Mr. and Mrs. McCormick (Frances), all of Omaha, and Mr. and Mrs. Kohal (Julia) of Los Angeles, Calif. Five grandchildren and three sisters also survive. The sisters are Mrs. Bessie Smid, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. S. Pribyl, David City; and Mrs. James Havelka, Council Bluffs, Iowa, and her two sons, who also attended the funeral. After the burial service, all of the family assembled at the home of their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Stava, where dinner had been prepared by their daughter, Mrs. Ben Pelan.
