Carroll Sr., 49, veteran Greenville newspaperman, who died in Pitt General Hospital Tuesday afternoon at 3:55 o'clock following a stroke of paralysis suffered Saturday morning were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the home by the Rev. W. A. Rryan, pastor of Eighth Street Christian Church. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Carroll had worked for several newspapers in East Carolina. He also had published a newspaper at Kinston and another at New Bern. He was a member of The Daily Reflector staff at the time of his death. Mr. Carroll, a native of South Carolina, came to Greenville about 1912. He later was married to Miss Elizabeth Ploff, native of New York State, who was staying here at that time. Besides his widow surviving are two daughters Mrs. Clarence B. Whichard Jr. and Miss Gloria Carroll; five sons, Charles Jr., Eugene Bickett and Larry Carroll; one brother, Walter J.
