QC Times - Saturday - October 5, 2002 Blue Grass Presbyterian Church will celebrate its 150th anniversary. The original church was located on the Geest Farm in 1852. Rev. Enoch Mead was the pioneer pastor who served the congregation in 1852. On Oct. 2, 1852, the Presbyterian Church of Blue Grass was organized by the Presbytery of Cedar with nine charter members. The first services were led by Rev. Mead at a log school in Buffalo Township. The first building was erected on the site now owned by Edwin and Katey Geest. In 1873, the church rebuilt on Orphed Street in Blue Grass. The 1873 white frame building was torn down in 1970 when the present building was built at 337 W. Lotte.
