Description	:	Charles H. Eddy, 95, of Manhattan, Kansas, formerly of Marysville, died Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Manhattan. Charles was born August 12, 1916 at Marysville, Kansas, son of Esther (Holcomb) and Horace Eddy. He graduated from Marysville High School in 1934. During 1942 until 1945 he served in the U.S. Army in WWII. After his honorable discharge he returned to Marysville. Eddy, 95, of Manhattan, Kansas, formerly of Marysville, died Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Manhattan. Charles was born August 12, 1916 at Marysville, Kansas, son of Esther (Holcomb) and Horace Eddy. He graduated from Marysville High School in 1934. During 1942 until 1945 he served in the U.S. Army in WWII. After his honorable discharge he returned to Marysville. On September 30, 1945 he was united in marriage to Laura Lee Davis at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville. Charles worked at the Gay-Mar Candy Shop, which he purchased and later named it the Marysville Candy Shop. After retiring Charles and Laura Lee enjoyed traveling and taking trips to Las Vegas with their friends. Charles also enjoyed playing cards, golfing, was a K-State fan and especially enjoyed his granddaughters. He was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ where he served on various committees, American Legion Post #163 where he was a Past Commander, Lions, Old Buzzards and various card clubs. His parents; two brothers, Howard and Weldon Eddy; and one sister, Gladys Darner, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Laura Lee Eddy, Manhattan; two daughters, Susan (Brad) Houtz, Manhattan, and Deborah (Jim) Bruna, Hanover; son, Dennis Eddy, Topeka; and three granddaughters: Amanda, Emily and Elise Houtz. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 17 at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville. Burial will be in the Marysville City Cemetery.
