Description	:	Services Held For C. H. Blumenauer Funeral services for Charles E. Blumenauer, 82, of Tama, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at the Harrison Funeral Home with Rev. C. Dana Boggie officiating. Ben Jones sang, accompanied by Mrs. Jones. Pall bearers were James Rozek, Allen Graff, George Graff, Otto Sudt, Edward Drobny, and Frank Novak. Blumenauer died at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, 1949, at his home, 1608 Grant street. Death was due to a heart condition although he had not suffered from any previous illness. He had always enjoyed good health and his death was unexpected by his family. Blumenauer was born Jan. 6, 1867 at Cumberland, Maryland. His marriage to LaRue Martin of Malcom, Ia., occurred March 4, 1889, in Chicago. Blumenauer lived in Chicago for many years where he was a prominent glass manufacturer. He moved to Tama with his wife three years ago and purchased the home of County Attorney Walter J. Willett. The Blumenauers have many relatives in this vicinity. Surviving with the wife are two daughters, Edna Blumenauer of Tama and Mrs. L. O. Griffith of Port Allegany, Pa; five grandchildren, Mrs. Marian Rath, Charles C. Griffith, and Mary Margaret Griffith, all of Chicago, Mrs. Nelson Glass, Winter Park, Fla., and Larry O. Griffith Jr., of Alfred, N. Y.; and seven great grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Bertha Buffington of Cedar Rapids also survives. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Carl Roberts; a sister, Mrs. William Caton; and two brothers, Harry and William.
