He was born on June 29, 1926 in Bartlett, Iowa, the son of Charles Henry and Marguerite Parr Shoemaker. He graduated from New Market High School in 1943. He served in the US Navy during WW II. He was born on June 29, 1926 in Bartlett, Iowa, the son of Charles Henry and Marguerite Parr Shoemaker. He graduated from New Market High School in 1943. He served in the US Navy during WW II. He is survived by his wife of the home, daughters, Laura Albin and husband Terry of Clarinda, Iowa, and Teresa Cole of Corning, Iowa, five grandchildren, sisters Katherine Luther and husband Carroll of Shenandoah, Iowa, and Delores Renander of Clarinda, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Myra, and brother-in-law Junior Renander. Funeral services were held on Friday, August 3, 2001 at Walker-Merrick with Rev. Loren Daly officiating. Burial was in the Siam Cemetery. Memorials were suggested to the Siam Church of Christ or the New Market Fire & Rescue. Walker-Merrick was in charge of arrangements.
