Martin, 75, Died Friday Evening, Funeral Services Held Sunday C. H. Martin, 74, a resident of this community all his life, died last Friday evening at his home in Renwick. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 at the house and at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church with the pastor, Rev. E. D. Hart officiating, assisted by R. E. Cook. Burial was made in Elmwood cemetery. Mr. Martin had been an invalid for some time. In August of 1932 he had a slight stroke from which he recovered, but other strokes followed and ultimately caused hie death. On Monday of last week he suffered the final attack and that evening went into a coma, never regaining consciousness to the end of life. All of the children were at his bedside when he passed away. C. Henry Martin, the eldest son of C. H. and Anna Mary Martin, was born in Boone Township, Wright County, Iowa on December 11, 1865, and passed away at his home in Renwick on September 13, 1940, at the age of 74 years, 9 months and 2 days. He was united in marriage May 25, 1883, to Miss Martha Ella Packard. They lived for many years on their farm one mile northeast of Renwick. In 1918 they moved into the town of Renwick, having first built a new home here, and Mr. Martin worked at the masonry and carpenter trade. Six children were born to this union: Mrs. E. A. Simpson of Mountain Lake, Minn., A. R. Martin, now deceased, Mrs. H. H. Prull of Ceylon, Minn., Mrs. R. R. Blesie, Mrs. G. A. Ballard adn Mrs. W. W. McPeak, all of Renwick. He is survived by his five children and two brothers, Dr. George H. Martin of Eagle Grove and Alfred H. Martin of Renwick, and 28 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, also many other relatives. his wife passed away April 10, 1933. Mr. Martin united with the Methodist Episcopal church early in life and was a charter member of the local Methodist church in which his funeral was held. He has been a good husband and father, and upright citizen, and was generally successful and prosperous in his endeavors. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Forstrom of Winnebago, Minn, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Prull and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Maday of East Chain, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Erickson, Marie Prull of Ceylon, Minn., Mr. and Mrs., Wayne Richmond of Armstrong, Mr. and Mrs. Will Sheridan of Rutland, Dr. and Mrs. George Martin and Mrs. George Bawn of Eagle Grove, Harry and Calvin Packard of St. Ansgar, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Johnson of Luverne, S. J. Packard of Corwith.
