He was born December 12, 1926 in Goshen to Charles H. and Mabel (Hoover) Inbody. He married Waneta Edwards February 28, 1948 in Goshen. Waneta passed away in 1965. He married Louise Thompson December 29, 1967. Louise passed away in 2015. Surviving are his daughters, Raymonde (Devon) Witmer, Goshen, Kira (Randy) Yoder, Northfield, MN; stepdaughters, Gail Sands, Elkhart, Carolyn Lakes, Ellijay, GA; 13 grandchildren, Tracey Witmer, Dawn Miller, Justin Witmer, Keri Mitschelen, Kyle Witmer, Joel Yoder, Karmen Yoder, Stephanie Hodermann, Todd Lakes, Tony Sands, Britney Sands, Jim Butler, Charles Butler; 26 great grandchildren; and sister, Bonnie Hostetler, Goshen. He was preceded in death by infant daughter, Carla, daughter, April Inbody Butler; siblings, Lamar Inbody, Orville Inbody, Goldie Smith, Evelyn Bowman, Doris Keim, and step granddaughter, Jodi Sands. Charles graduated from Goshen High School in 1945. He served in the United States Military from 1945-1947. He trained with the mounted Calvary and served in North Africa with the 1252 Air Force. He worked for NIPSCO for 39 years, retiring in 1987 as Supervisor of Residential Marketing as well as working for Ace Hardware for 15 years after retirement. He was a member of the Dunlap United Methodist Church , serving as a lay leader and delegate to Northern Indiana Conference for many years. He was a member of the Dunlap Lions Club for over 30 years, serving as past president and secretary. He was past president of the United Cancer Services of Elkhart County Board of Directors. Also, he devoted many hours to Meals on Wheels, Oaklawn Hospital, and chairman of the Neighborhood watch of Pickwick Manor. Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home
