Description	:	He was the son of the late Dr. Isaac David & Sarah Permelia (Stewart) Newman. He married first, Harriett Lucretia White on 26 Nov 1891 at Oakland, Garrett, Maryland. They had six children, Gus Elmer, Permelia Rachel, Marion Wilson, Harry Lee, Fanny Foltz, and Winifred Harriett. He married second, Emma Grace Lee on 7 Jan 1906 at Oakland, Garrett, Maryland. He learned the printing business at the Republican and Mountain Democrat Offices, later going to Terra Alta as an associate publisher of the weekly newspaper at that location. He returned to Oakland and was employed in the office of the Garrett Journal. He later entered the employ of the US Postoffice as a rural carrier, and for several years served as one of the clerks in the Oakland Office. He also had a small dairy farm south of Oakland, operated mostly my his son Walter C. Newman.
